Open source farming

I have just discovered this great website : http://farmhack.org

This is where the ideology of open source (sharing and replicating ideas, software, seeds, etc freely) is applied to farm innovation. Working on many different farms, I have realized how much knowledge farmers have. It's not the theoretical knowledge one learns in school, but they have this practical intelligence that comes from hands-on experience. And by really being dependent of their farm management, some of them come up with really creative ideas to improve their systems! It might be a new type of tractor or simply a tip to avoid having pests somewhere.
And why would people keep secret their innovations when by sharing them it could help so many people have a better life?

Well that's exactly what this website is about! An open source community to make a more resilient agriculture.

--> It is a sort of wiki, using collaborative participation and intelligence. Use and value diversity

--> It's fair share :
- Machines and tools : to make oneself !
- Enterprise budgets : yes, it even enables you to share and look at farm enterprise budgets, something that is very helpful to start or change your own farm to avoid bad investments.

--> Efficient and appropriate tools for regenerative farming
One of the big obstacles farmers have to actually do efficient regenerative farming are appropriate tools, which are hard to find, a huge investment, or have not even been invented yet!
But thanks to this website, creative people that have designed tools can share them for other farmers to build them themselves at a lower cost.

Enjoy exploring! :D
There are some pretty wild machineries!
